It's official, the Hornet wrestlers are the 2A state champions for the third year in a row. Declo scored 176.5 team points to beat a tough Melba team who scored 156 points. Kage Osterhout picked up his second state championship title, pinning every opponent in the first period. Declo had nine wrestlers place in the top six, including three runner-up finishes by Stirland Zollinger, Josh Phillips, and Jason Gillette. The Hornets' other top finishers were John Nunnelee (third at 126), Blaine Phillips (sixth at 132), Brad Payne (sixth at 160), Drexton Thrall (third at 195), and Ty Loveland (sixth at 195). We are so proud of our team!

For the fourth year in a row, the Hornet wrestlers are District Champions and are the reigning two-time state champions! The team finished the season with 32 dual wins and 1 loss. State qualifiers will start wrestling Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. in Holt Arena. Wrestling will continue Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with finals at 3:30 p.m. The wrestlers are coached by Lawrence Gillette, Lance Gillette, and Ian Webb.
